Thanksgiving funny

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We cruised the East side coming home relaxed and thankful to have spent some time close to the ocean and in the freshest of air. But nothing was funnier than finding this oddly placed sign outside a church. It has a remarkably strong element of truth to it - hopefully it will be far off in the future!
Blessings to all and a Happy Thanksgiving

Early morning subjects

Sometimes a predawn assignment like the one I had today presents more than the normal cadre of images. Shooting a fish market early, under fluorescent and mercury vapor lighting can be a challenge. But then that's nothing new in the world of photojournalism- right? What we need to stay alert for are the crispy moments that can quickly pass by and often are things that we take for granted. The Fish Market in Honolulu exists in part because there are teams of people ready to go out into the oceans and "farm" the waves, bringing home everything from Swordfish to Ahi. But today the fleet is home. In time for Thanksgiving. Remember those people when you're putting away that seared Tuna or that Mahi Mahi this weekend. And be thankful that they all came back safe. Happy Thanksgiving!
Aloha

Shoot, shoot, shoot, but then what?

Sometimes you shoot something with your iPhone, just because you left your "pro-hulk 1d1700" at home - and you get a killa shot that warrants some more artsy attention. How d'ya do it? You need an app that can transfer the file onto your Mac or PC so you can Photoshop the youknowwat out of it!

I don't know these guys but their app is a winner and you can get it for iPhone and iPad at just one price for both devices . . . and it'll link to your computer, transferring the files from your iPad and iPhone almost effortlessly! Whew - all in one breath!

So take a look and keep shootin' with whatever's in your hand!
Aloha!
